If you're doing Phu Quoc with kids, accept one thing early: laundry is part of the holiday. Between sand, sunscreen, mango juice and the pool, most little ones get through 2–3 outfits a day. The trick isn't packing more. It's packing for half the trip and doing one proper wash in the middle.

Where all those outfits go

A typical day goes something like this: breakfast outfit (now covered in fruit), swimsuit, post-swim clothes, a sandy afternoon, a clean set for dinner. Add a damp towel or two and the pile grows by the hour.

Sunscreen is the sneaky one. It rubs into collars and shoulders, and if it sits for days it can leave yellowish marks on white cotton. And in September and October, the wettest months, anything you hang in the room dries slowly and starts to smell before it's dry.

The packing maths

Here's a rule that works: 3 outfits per day until your laundry day, plus 1–2 spares. On a 5-day trip with a wash on day 3, that's about 9–11 outfits per child instead of 15–17. Your suitcase will thank you.

  • 2–3 swimsuits, so one dries while another is in use
  • A light long-sleeved set for evenings and mosquitoes
  • In the day bag: one clean outfit, wet wipes and a couple of plastic bags for the inevitable

Little habits that save you later

  • Pack two mesh or cloth bags: one for dry dirty clothes, one for wet things.
  • Shake the sand out on the balcony, not in the room.
  • Rinse swimwear in the shower as soon as you're back, then roll it in a towel to squeeze the water out.
  • Dab sunscreen and food stains with a bit of soap the same day.

Skip the sink, send it out once

Hand-washing a family's clothes in a hotel basin eats your evening, and in this humidity they can still be damp two days later. A wash-and-fold laundry takes everything in one go and gives it back dry and folded.

When you book, put your requests in the notes, because we follow what you write:

  • "Wash kids' clothes separately"
  • "Separate whites and colours"
  • Child with sensitive skin? Message us first and ask, then decide once you've got an answer.

Quick sum: the family's bag weighs 4 kg. Standard service is 4 × 45,000₫ = 180,000₫, plus pickup and delivery from 50,000₫, so from 230,000₫ in total, about US$8.95.
