Hotel laundry prices in Phu Quoc are often per item, and at some places that's around 80,000₫ a piece (about US$3.10, as a rough reference). That sounds fine for a shirt. It sounds less fine once you count every sock, bikini and pair of shorts from a few beach days. Priced by the kilo, the same bag usually costs a fraction of that.
Here's the maths, and a few things to check before you hand your bag to reception.
Why per item adds up so fast
Look at what's actually in a holiday laundry bag: T-shirts, shorts, swimwear, underwear, maybe a sarong. Lots of small, light things. On a per-item list, each one is its own line, and a flimsy bikini top costs the same as a pair of jeans.
By the kilo, the whole bag goes on a scale and gets multiplied by one rate. Socks and swimwear barely move the number. For beach clothes, that's the better deal almost every time.
The maths on a 3 kg bag
Say two people on a four-day trip fill one bag of about 3 kg: tees, shorts, swimwear, sleepwear, a couple of small towels. That's often somewhere around 15–20 pieces. Treat that as a rough illustration, since it depends on how you pack.
- Per item at a reference rate of 80,000₫: 15 pieces is about 1,200,000₫, 20 pieces about 1,600,000₫. Roughly US$47–62.
- By the kilo at NightGo: 3 kg × 45,000₫ = 135,000₫, plus pickup and delivery from 50,000₫ = from 185,000₫, about US$7.20.
Every hotel's list is different and some items will be cheaper than that. But the gap between the two methods is rarely small, so it's worth sixty seconds to check.
Before you fill in the hotel laundry slip
- Find the price list. It's usually in the wardrobe, next to the laundry bag.
- Ask reception whether it's per item or per kilo, if express costs extra, and when it comes back.
- Rinse underwear and swimwear yourself. Small pieces are what inflate a per-item bill.
- Send one big bag rather than a few pieces every day.
- Count your pieces and snap a photo before the bag leaves your hands, wherever you send it.
By the kilo at NightGo

Prices are public and include washing, drying and folding: 45,000₫ per kg standard (about US$1.75), ready in 3–4 hours, or 55,000₫ per kg express (about US$2.15), ready in 1–2 hours; orders under 3 kg are a flat 130,000₫. Pickup and delivery is from 50,000₫ per order, both ways, between 8am and 10pm; we tell you the fee for your hotel before we come.
Message us on the website chat or WhatsApp with your name, phone, rough weight, hotel and room number, and standard or express. We meet you in the lobby at the agreed time. Your bag is weighed dry at the shop (wet items after washing and drying) and you pay for the real weight; we always send you a photo of the scale with the total. It comes back dry and folded, and you pay on delivery, cash or bank transfer.
No night surcharge, no hidden extras. Add a note if you want whites, colours or kids' clothes washed separately. Each extra machine for splitting your clothes is 60,000₫; we message you the price first and only go ahead once you agree. We wash in water, we don't dry clean, so keep suits, wool, silk and "dry clean only" pieces out. Full price breakdown: Phu Quoc laundry by the kilo.
